Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that develops gradually. Sometimes, it starts with a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand but can develop to affect overall body movement. “Tremors” may be the most well-known sign of Parkinson's disease but the disorder can also cause stiffness of the body. Speech can also become affected. I.E. soft, muffled or slurred speech. Unfortunately, symptoms often progress and worsen as time goes by. Although there is no cure for Parkinson’s, proper care, medication and care management can have remarkably positive results in improving symptoms.
